Per BRG, Expedia is running a discount offer that lets you save anywhere from $100 – $200 on your hotel stays – with no minimum! That is a pretty great deal, if you can find the right hotels to maximize your value.

Save $100 – $200 On Hotel Stays With These Codes!

It is a tiered discount based on the number of nights you stay at qualifying hotels. It breaks down like this (along with the codes for each duration):

  • Receive an instant $100 coupon discount on a qualifying hotel booking of three (3) or more consecutive nights at select hotels when you use the offer code DISCVR105.
  • Receive an instant $150 coupon discount on a qualifying hotel booking of four (4) or more consecutive nights at select hotels when you use the offer code DISCVR151.
  • Receive an instant $200 coupon discount on a qualifying hotel booking of five (5) or more consecutive nights at select hotels when you use the offer code DISCVR201.

If you have planned hotel stays already upcoming, check to see if your hotel qualifies for this rate (the discount codes only work for hotels booked through Expedia). If you want to plan a getaway around this code, check for some of the cheaper hotel locations (like Las Vegas or many international spots).

Code Details

You must redeem the code by March 15, 2015 and the stay must be completed by August 31, 2015. The terms state that you only get one coupon per Expedia account so consider which hotel you want the most from that particular account. 🙂

Excluded Hotels

There is a long list of excluded hotels (mostly chain hotels though the code does work at some chains) and you can see the complete list on their offer page – here.

How To Redeem (from the Expedia offers page)

Sign in to your Expedia.com® user account and select an Expedia Rate qualifying hotel stay. On the billing and delivery page you will see the link “I have a coupon”. Click on this link and enter one of the following offer codes DISCVR201/ DISCVR151/ DISCVR105. You must be signed in to your Expedia.com user account to use an instant coupon. If you do not have an Expedia.com user account, you must create one prior to making your qualifying hotel booking.

Expedia

A fantastic Hyatt hotel available with the booking code and at a great price!

This is an example of a chain hotel available with the booking code (love this hotel – check my review here). This rate actually comes with breakfast as well and is a great price! If you want to stay here on a Points + Cash reservation, it would cost you $75 per night and 6,000 points for a rate without breakfast! If you want to visit northern Greece (where this is a great marathon in early April!), consider the Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki.

Expedia

A hotel that breaks down to $15 per night!

If you want to brave the winter cold, you could stay in Niagara Falls next month for about $15 per night for 5 nights with this code! Not bad!

I found a ton of hotels available for these codes around the world so definitely start searching! I even was able to get some hotels to price for – $0! Not a bad discount at all!

  • Thanks a lot for this post. What if i book -and prepay- for 3 nights and 0$ but actually stay only 2 and check out after the 2nd night?

    • Since it is a prepaid rate, you don’t even need to check out. But, if you want to play it safe, just call on the day you are supposed to check out and tell them you left without stopping at the front desk and you are checked out. I have done that several times with no problems.

  • Is it dead already now? Can you please try and confirm.
When I made a booking for 3 nights in Japan and use the $100 off coupon code, it only gave me $80 off despite of the word “your coupon has been applied”.
Then when I tried to book another hotel (I am sure the hotel is not a chain hotel like ibis, mercure, novotel that are excluded from this promo), it says ” Sorry, your coupon cannot be applied to this booking. Please check the Terms & Conditions.” I double checked many times it’s not a chain hotel and fulfill the required length of stay and used the right code.

  • Thanks, so it’s confirmed dead online. By the way, I just don’t understand why it’s dead faster than expected….I meant…nobody mentioned it on slickdeals so no SD effect or something like that….

    • To be honest, I am surprised that it went out so fast! The only thing I can imagine is that Expedia was surprised by the amount of reservations coming in and they blocked it online for a bit to allow another go later on – maybe. 🙂

  • I agree! Same like Orbitz $100 off deal a while back ! have you been able to get the hotel that you want with good price?
Since expedia offer free cancelation, if a good deal like this comes again later, is it a good idea to book as many as we can without selecting/sorting one by one since it will consume a lot of time and the deal probably be dead by the time we chose only one that we like. We can always cancel it later without penalty. What do you think of this idea? have you ever tried this way?

    • I did actually get a really good hotel deal with this offer. It was for a friend who had some housing situation come up and needed to move out while his place was fixed. So, I grabbed him a room for 5 nights starting tonight – and he is there now enjoying a $3 a night hotel! 🙂
As far as canceling the refundable ones, no problem there and a good way to go (getting what you need and deciding later what to keep). I did that with the Orbitz deal (planned on keeping them all) and got the little bit of money back no problem.

      • That’s awesome! happy to hear that, you are a good friend and your friend must be happy now that he got a place to stay while his place is being fixed.
Have you have any luck by calling Expedia and have the promo code applied?
I booked a hotel in japan for 4 nights stay but actually we only can stay 2 nights, but booked 4 nights since it’s way more cheaper than booked 2 or 3 nights.
Can we just tell the front desk agent when we arrived there, that we actually will be staying 2 nights and don’t mind if the extra 2 nights that we already prepaid is not refunded back to us?

        • I actually have not called them yet as I am still weighing which options I may choose (not a big deal on either one).
As far as your Japan trip, since you have prepaid, you don’t actually even need to checkout. However, some foreign hotels may charge you if you don’t so I just have made it a habit of calling in before checkout to let them know that I have left and there were no extra charges to the room. It has never failed me. That should work for you as well so you would not even have to say anything to them at the desk.

  • Good idea! I just hope that My hotel front’s desk agent would be able to understand English ….. 🙂

    • Even better if not! That way, if there are charges for late checkout, you call the main reservations line and explain that they were not able to communicate with you about checking out. 🙂
