Reader Poll – What Distance Races Have You Run?

Polls are very useful to help me get a feel for the different makeup of the readers of Running with Miles. I appreciate everyone that takes part in such a poll or those that answer the questions on giveaways because it really does give me a better sense of what particular areas are of the most interest to people. You can find these polls on the side of the page as seen below.

The latest Running with Miles Poll

With that being said, I will start rotating polls on a regular basis so that I can learn more about you all. That helps me to continue to post on various topics that are the most relevant to you, the reader. The one I just posted is about what distance races you have run. There are many more distances, but I am trying to limit it to the major distance races. Please fill that out as it is really helpful! Of course, you can also leave a comment here on which particular race you have run that was your favorite.

  • Also did 7 miles and two 20Ks, odd distances, in Chicago long ago which were interesting. Glad I got 17 competitive years in before a bad accident left me being just a race day volunteer, standing there watching with lots of wires, screws, plates and bone grafts in my right leg. Hey, at least I’m ambulatory. As the biblical passage goes “I wept because I had no shoes till I met the man with no feet.” Living vicariously is better than sulking about what used to be.

  • What, no 20ks? Ran a couple of them in Chicago. There are lots of runs at odd distances like seven miles, too.

    • You are right, there are quite a few odd distances but for this poll, I decided to stick with the more standard distances. I have also ran 20Ks, 15Ks, 12Ks, 25Ks, and 8 milers so I realize there are quite a few more!
