New IHG Offer: 40,000 Points + Free Night IHG Sign-up Bonus [Possibly Targeted]

IHG offer

There is a new IHG offer that is out and it is a good one! Get 40,000 points and a free night as the sign-up bonus in what may be a targeted offer. Find out about it here!

The best offer on the IHG card had been the 80,000 points + $50 statement credit. While that is no longer publicly offered, it has been available to many who have requested it via secure message. Currently, the best (public) offer is 60,000 points + $50 statement credit. But, this offer might just be the best offer on this card!

New IHG Offer: 40,000 Points + Free Night Sign-Up Bonus [Possibly Targeted]

IHG offer

I received this offer in my e-mail and this is really a good offer. Sure the point offer is lower, but the free night with the bonus more than makes up for it. With top-tier nights costing 50,000 points, this has the potential of being a 90,000 points!

This comes will all the normal good stuff on this card:

  • Free night every year
  • Platinum elite status
  • 10% points rebate
  • $0 annual fee the first year – $49 after
  • 5X points per $1 at any IHG hotel
  • 2X points per $1 at gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants
  • 1 point per $1 everywhere else

The sign-up bonus is the key difference in this offer. If you can get this offer, I would say this is the best one if you plan on redeeming at an upper tier hotel. To get the sign-up bonus, you need to spend $1,000 in 3 months.

Possibly Targeted?

I say this is possibly targeted because, while I received it via e-mail on a targeted link, I was able to substitute the key details on the link with the generic application and it loaded fine. Typically if I replace the cell #, SPID #, and Offer numbers on a Chase application, it errors out. This time, it loaded anyway.

Chase IHG 40,000 Points + Free Night Link make sure you read below!

This is a YMMV as this is not the landing page but the application page! If you want to be sure, you could message Chase and tell them that this offer is available and you want to be matched to it. This has worked before with the 80,000 point offer so there is a good possibility that it will work with this one as well.

Or, you can search for the e-mail in your inbox. Search for this Earn a Free Night Certificate and 40,000 points to see if you have received it and overlooked it. According to the terms, this offer is good through January 10, 2016.

Summary

I think the Chase IHG 40,000 points + free night offer is the best offer on this card – if you use the free night at a high-end property. This is the same free night certificate that you get each year you hold the card so very valuable!

Even though I received it as a targeted offer, there is still a good chance that you could get it. Just make sure you contact Chase if you apply using the link above to verify that it was the offer you signed up for. If in doubt, try contacting Chase via secure message to match to this offer.

  • Until it comes time for Chase to pay the bonus and they’ll just claim you signed up using the 60k plus $60 statement credit and only gives the 60k when you complain like they did with my sister. She cancelled all her chase cards as a result

    • She’s signed up for the 80k bonus right when spite status came out and chase screwed her over. It seems the chase customer service for this credit card is not as good as their other co branded credit cards
