A new Amex Offer is here that can help you save 20% on a lot of athletic gear – including Garmin devices! Find out the steps to put this great deal together.

Another Amex Offer has made a reappearance and it is a great one for anyone in need of some athletic gear, including things like Garmin devices! I had it on all of my cards so I assume you will be able to find it on all of yours as well.

Great New Amex Offer for 20% Off Athletic Gear

This is for SwimOulet.com. You may have seen it in your account and passed by it since it is showing Spend $25, get $5 back. Admittedly, that is not a whole lot to get excited about by itself! Also, if you are not a swimmer, the name may have not jumped out at you either.

But, they have a lot of different athletic gear, including some Garmin devices. With this offer and a welcome coupon, you can get 30% off all of this – depending on how many Amex cards you have! 🙂

Step 1 – Sign-Up for Newsletters

By signing up, you will get a 10% off coupon in your e-mail shortly. You can then use this same e-mail address for the account you will need to setup below. This 10% coupon works on Garmin! This coupon is valid for only 2 weeks so be ready to order!

Step 2 – Save the Amex Offer to Multiple Cards

Important: add the offer to separate cards by simply logging in to your American Express account and then choose to duplicate the tab (if using Google Chrome) as many times as you have cards. Once they are all open, select a different Amex card in each tab and select to save the offer to the card.

Here are the details of this Amex Offer:

  • Get a one-time $5 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $25+ in one or more transactions
  • Valid online at swimoutlet.com
  • Expires 1/23/2018

Step 3 – Buy $25 Gift Cards

The gift cards are sold by SwimOutlet.com so they do count for the Amex Offers. I purchased a couple and had the message that I had used my Amex Offer each time. Buy them separately and in $25 amounts.

They say they will be delivered within 1 business day but I got them almost instantly.

Step 4 – Add To Your Account

SwimOutlet is a little different from other retailers. In order to use your gift cards, you must create an account (use the e-mail you started with above) and register/add each gift card to your account. Once you do that, they will easily be applied to your order.

Step 5 – Order Away!

When you combine the 10% discount coupon at checkout, you may get an invalid message, but you will see that it has added it to your order. You will have your previously loaded gift cards there as well so you are good to save!

Takeaway

This is a fantastic way to take a seemingly small Amex Offer and turn it into something great! If you have access to 8 Amex cards, that will give you $40 off a $200 purchase. When you combine it with the 10% off new shopper discount, you are looking at a nice $60 off a $200 purchase. Not a bad haul at all!

  • Thanks for the post charlie. I had my eye on garmin watches for quite a while but I think this might be the right time. Problem is I am only interested in swimming, walking and biking with a very long battery life. Some time back a saw one of your posts where you compared these watches according to the life style. Now I google and do not find that post. Do you have a link for that?

    • Sorry, Caveman, just seeing this now (working on another post like this one so that is why).
I cannot remember if I did one like that or not and I couldn’t find it either! 🙂 I would say that the Garmin Fenix line would be perfect for you. The latest model, Fenix 5, has battery life up to 24 hours and even longer if you put it in a different mode (something like 50 hours) – and that is just for GPS! For everyday use, it is good for up to 1 week before charging.
