Great Deals: Amex Offer For Uber And Motorola 360 Smartwatch

Uber
Written by Charlie

Good morning! There are a couple of great deals that I saw this morning. They are very helpful, especially the Amex Offer for Uber.

Amex Offer For Uber

Uber

The newest Amex Offer is for $5 back on $15 spend or more with Uber. I realize many people strive to get the free rides with Uber via referrals (I like it too!) but there are going to be rides that you would have to pay for. Using this offer, you can get $5 back on those rides when you pay with your Amex card with the offer saved to it.

I have the offer on all of my Amex cards except the Platinum version. The trick will be to rotate your Amex cards out each ride to take advantage of the Amex Offer on each card you saved it to.

Uber Details:

  • Spend $15, get $5 back
  • Expires 7/25/15
  • Enrollment limited – so make sure you save this offer quickly!

Getting the Offer

Log in to your American Express account and scroll down to the bottom. You will see Amex Offers For You. Select it and add the offers you want to your card.

Maximize The Offer – BEFORE You Save The Offer!

To maximize it, add the offer to separate cards, simply login to your American Express account and then choose to duplicate the tab (if using Google Chrome) as many times as you have cards. Once they are all open, select a different Amex card in each tab and select to save the offer to the card.

Make sure that each tab is showing the Uber offer before you start clicking to save it.

New To Uber?

Uber

If you are new to Uber, you can get $20 off your ride by signing up with a referral link. If you sign-up through my link here, I will get $20 off a future ride as well after you take yours. If you use this credit along with the Amex Offer, just know that the total paid on the Amex card must be $15. So, the total should be at least $35 to take advantage of both the Amex Offer and Uber credit.

If you have an Uber code as well, feel free to leave your sign-up link in the comment section as well so we can spread the love a bit.

UPDATE: Thanks to reader Mika who referred that Capitol One Quicksilver cardholders will get 20% back on Uber rides through April of 2016 – I am not sure if that includes matching with the first rider promo affiliate link or not, so you may want to skip the affiliate link just in case!

Deal of the Day – Moto 360 Smartwatch

Moto 360

Amazon Moto 360 Smartwatch $99 Link

Amazon, with Woot, has their deal of the day as the Moto 360 smartwatch. It has been going in and out of stock as it is hugely popular. So, if not in stock now, check back because it is coming back in.

It is a smartwatch that works with your Android phone and is certainly one of the nicer looking Android-compatible smartwatches out there.

This is the refurbished model and is likely a precursor of a new generation watch coming out at some point soon. But, if you are looking for a decent smartwatch at a great deal, this is probably that deal! You can get it for $99 today only!

  • FYI I did not have the Uber offer either on the JetBlue card or via the separate Serve app. I gather this one is not available by Twitter?

Also keep in mind that Capital One has an ongoing promo if you have a Quick Silver credit or debit card for 20% off all Uber rides except taxi until mid 2016. The 20% off posts as statement credits about 2-3 times a month.

Also a new Uber user presumably signing up with a Capital One card can use promo code
    CapitalOne
for up to two rides free up to $30 per ride. I have not tested yet if the CapitalOne code stacks with a personal referral link.
I imagine the sequence would be to first add the personal referral link code when creating the account & then add CapitalOne but again I don’t know if it will take both codes.

I would just hate for anyone to miss out on the outstanding 20% off all rides for a year!

  • Didn’t get targeted on any of my cards (SPG personal and business, Everyday, or Business Gold)

  • Thank you for the great tip, I have just started using the Amex offers and love them!! I also just tried Uber for the first time the other day for a ride to the airport and I thought it was so cool–requested a ride and he was there within 10 minutes–amazing! Here’s my offer code if anybody wants to help us both out–$20 for you and $20 for me!
