Get A 100% Bonus On Club Carlson Point Purchases

Club Carlson
Written by Charlie

There are not all that many points that make great sense to purchase given the prices they charge, the bonus levels offered, and the opportunities for redemption. For sure, the US Airways mile purchase promos work out great for those who are looking to redeem for premium cabin travel at a discount and it can make sense to purchase points from other programs depending on your needs, but in a general sense, there are not a lot of “great” purchase promo options.

When it comes to purchasing Club Carlson points, the math becomes a little more in favor of the purchaser with a 100% bonus. Sure, you can easily generate Club Carlson points with the credit given the generous spending bonuses, but if you want to be able to rack up some Club Carlson points for a two-night stay, buying points with this promo may work. That is because the Club Carlson credit cards give cardholders the last night of an award stay for free (so, a two night award stay would only count as one night for points redemptions).

100% Bonus On Club Carlson Point Purchases

Club Carlson

Tomorrow only, you can receive a 100% bonus on point purchases from Club Carlson. Unfortunately, there is a cap – you can only earn the bonus on purchases of 1,000 – 10,000 points. So, the most points you can receive from this promo is 20,000 points which would cost you $70. If redeemed for a hotel for two nights (getting the second night free as a Club Carlson credit cardholder), you would be paying only $35 per night for the points from this promo. Since you could get two nights at a category 1 or 2 with that many points, you will not have a lot of hotels available to you, but this promo could help you top up your account for a bigger redemption.

This promo will run tomorrow, December 1, from 12:01AM – 11:59PM CST. You can purchase the points at this link – here.

  • Charlie, how much do you value 1 club carlson point/$?
And with this promo, how much do we buy the club carlson points/$?
    Does the points expire?
I plan to do this promo to top off account if it’s good deal to Redeem at cat 3-4 hotels in asia.

    • I would put them at around .6 cents per point (you are paying .35 cents per point with this promo). I think it is a great value, especially for a top-up. You are paying only $70 for what could really help stretch your points. They do not expire as long as you use or redeem points (some, not all) every 24 months.

  • Why would someone spend $70 for 20,000 points when you can do the below
    1.buy simon gc @ 3.95 per $1000 for 5K points
    2.total cost for 20K points= $3.95*4=$15.8

    • I had mentioned that it there are ways to get that amount of points with credit card spend (thanks to the generous point earning on the Club Carlson card), but if someone is looking for a quick way to top up, this is the best and cheapest way. Also, there may be those that would prefer to do their manufactured spend on a card that it may be harder to get points by. Everyone’s needs are different – I am glad that there is a variety of ways that we can use to get the points we all need!

      • I made a mistake, I didn’t know this option and would love to MS the club carlson points rather than buying it, but I already just bought it at $70 for 20k points and I discover this post after I made a purchase, please kindly let me know how to cancel my transaction and a phone number would be great. Who should I contact to cancel, Club Carlson or Points.com?

        • Can you please kindly help? I am losing $55 here…… I could get the points for $15 as anand said but now I spent $70 for it….sigh….

          • Sorry, but I do not think that points.com purchases are refundable. You could try to contact Club Carlson but I am pretty sure all purchases are final.
You did not “lose” the money either – you can still go ahead and manufacture the points that way for more points or you can manufacture different points instead (points that you cannot purchase for that cheap). It takes time to liquidate and gas, so you are really not saving $55 – just trying to help you feel a little bit better.

  • Charlie, by the way what credit card do you use to buy the this Club Carlson points promo to maximize points and miles earning on credit card used and what portal do you use to maximize it? thanks!

    • It doesn’t really matter too much because the sale is handled by points.com which does not have any category bonus and there are no portal offers. I would say to either use the card that gives the most points per dollar or the card that you need the spend on for a threshold bonus or to meet a minimum spending requirement.

  • Ok thanks Charlie, would you consider to include the comparison to earn points by manufactured spending too on your future post of buying discounted or promo points/miles? thanks.

    • Thanks, Dave. I hesitate to put too much about MS (I referenced it in the body of the post) in a post like this because it ends up confusing people many times (what do I do with the gift cards, which card to use, where do I get them, etc). MSing is always available but it takes several weeks to get the points (depending on when the statement closes) vs getting the points right away with a purchase option like this. Also, it requires that you have the card to do it. I certainly do not like to confuse people too much as my goal is to help.
For the record, I do not get anything from you purchasing those points by way of referral
