Earn Your Own Marriott Referral Bonus

Yesterday, I wrote about the fact that there is a 70,000 point Marriott offer that is now available to cardholders who have had it in the past. Today, we received e-mails notifying us that the Chase Refer A Friend program has now landed on the Marriott Rewards program and offers that same card to your friends and family – plus, you get a bonus!. It joins the Chase Sapphire Preferred and the Chase Southwest cards that also offers referral bonuses.

Now through August 19, you can refer friends and family to the Marriott Premier credit card. They will receive 70,000 points (after $2,000 in spending) and you will receive 10,000 points per approved application! That is double the referral bonus from the Sapphire Preferred and Southwest cards, which is quite nice since I do not value Marriott Reward points at the same level as Ultimate Reward points or Rapid Reward points (though you can transfer Ultimate Reward points to Marriott at 1:1).

Earn 10,000 Marriott Reward points with every successful referral!

The limit is 50,000 points for you, or 5 approved referrals. Given the fact that this is a particularly strong card offering, it should not be too hard to get friends and family to sign up for this card. The anniversary bonus is fairly strong and the sign-up bonus gets the applicant at least 10 free nights at Marriott (with the potential for 12 if stayed in 5 night increments).

They must make their first purchase with the card by 11/30/2014 for you to get the bonus. To send them the referral sign-up link, go here (or check your e-mail from the offer from Chase/Marriott). You will need to enter the last 4 digits of your Marriott Premier card, your last name, and billing zip code. After that, enter your friends’ names and e-mail addresses and you are good to go! It will update in the control panel when someone has been approved.

If you have the card and want to refer someone to earn the 10,000 points, feel free to leave your e-mail address in the comments for other readers who may want to sign-up. If you do not have it, check the comments to help a fellow traveler!
