Earn 10X Mileage Plan Miles At Road Runner Sports

Alaska Airlines
Written by Charlie

I love seeing higher mileage payouts for shopping at running stores. It helps give added incentive to grab gear that you may have been waiting for or find gear that you did not know you were looking for yet. 🙂

Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan shopping portal has hiked their portal payout for Road Runner Sports to a great 10 miles per dollar! Since Road Runner Sports has a vast inventory and a nice VIP package that will give you additional discounts, this is a great opportunity to buy the active gear you need.

Best Point Earning – 10X Mileage Plan Miles

Alaska Airlines

This increased payout (up from 4 miles per dollar) is good through March 31 (tomorrow). Not only that, but it comes with a nice 10% discount code that you can use on the site.

To begin your shopping, start at the Mileage Plan shopping portal – here. You will need to have a Mileage Plan account (free) to earn the miles. After signing in, search for Road Runner Sports to click on it to do your shopping. Clicking the link will take you to Road Runner Sports for your purchases. All of you purchases that you make there after clicking through will be credited and will earn the 10 miles per dollar.

The coupon code for the 10% off is CX15R039. Most portals exclude payouts when codes are used, but because this one is offered right on the Mileage Plan site, you are fine using it (or any discount you would get through your account).

Stack Those Discounts!

The coupon code above, that takes 10% off, can be stacked with the VIP discount of 10% as well. That is a huge bonus! I looked up my brand of shoes – the Asics Kayano models – and found the absolute best prices on them at the moment. Let’s say you get a great deal on some shoes and you spend $100, you will wind up with 1,000 Mileage Plan miles which could be worth a good 2 cents per point – or a $20 value in miles. That is fantastic! Given how flexible Alaska Airlines is with their multiple partners for award bookings, these miles can get you places!

To sign-up for the VIP program, it costs $1.99 for the first year ($25 per year after that). For the $1.99 price, that is a great value to get the extra 10% off as well as the free shipping and 90 day wear guarantee. That is pretty good! See this page for information and to sign-up.

GPS Devices

While the 10% discount code above does not work on the Garmin devices, the VIP 10% discount does work on them. For example, the Garmin 220 costs $249. With the 10%, you will pay $225, plus, Garmin is offering a $25 rebate on purchases through May 31. That brings a final cost of $200, plus you will earn 2,000 Mileage Plan miles. Not bad!

Getting More Miles

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles are among the easiest to get. Though the credit card bonus is only 25,000 miles, you will get those 25,000 miles when the credit card is opened – no minimum spending! You will have a $75 annual fee up front, but that is worth it for the miles. Another beautiful thing is that these Bank of America issued cards are easy to get again and again. You can get a business and personal now (50,000 total miles) and then hit it up again in a few minutes, while your current cards are still open. That will give you 100,000 miles. With their lucrative award charts, you can actually fly one way to Africa, for example, on Cathay Pacific in first class (with a stopover in Hong Kong) for 70,000 miles! That is huge! Or, you can fly to Hong Kong from the US roundtrip for only 100,000 miles!

Alaska Airlines Personal Card – Earn 25,000 miles upon account opening and earn a $100 statement credit after spending $1,000 in 90 days

Alaska Airlines Business Card – Earn 25,000 miles after first purchase

If you need some running gear, I would take advantage of this portal payout today!

  • Nice but I disagree with the VIP program being any joy when they sneak people to sign up for it only to auto debit them later and make it hard to quit that cult. Other than that I like them. This is at least 5x better than any other airline right now.

    • I had just set a reminder for the renewal and cancel it before it comes. Doing it the way they do is probably their loss-leader – offer a great discount at a small price knowing they can get some back later.
I will say, if you get caught, call them right away. I did that one time and told them I no longer received value from the program and they refunded me.
