Who Is This For?!

I know what people are thinking – who wants to eat that much at the Olive Garden, who wants to stuff themselves with this kind of food, it is a lot cheaper to buy it and make it on my own, this is ridiculous! 🙂

While I agree with all of that (to some degree), I do think that it could make sense for some people. With 800 locations around the US, Olive Garden most likely will be a restaurant that you will be near almost anywhere in the country. If you are on the road a lot and you want to simplify your dining, this would be an easy way to accomplish that.

But, an even more practical method of using this would be for those runners who are hitting high periods of training or racing and would be carbo loading anyway. If you are on the road and looking for a place to get your pasta fix before your long runs or races, this could simplify matters. Of course, you need to figure out if you will hit the Olive Garden more than 10 times during that 7 week period because you could always just purchase the Never Ending Pasta Bowl for $9.99 per visit instead. Having done that Never Ending Pasta Bowl a few times before, I can tell you that it is a tasty way to get your carbs on while keeping the cost low. 🙂

But, having said that, is Olive Garden my favorite “Italian-styled” restaurant? No, and far from it! However, it does make for a convenient pasta stop. Also, be warned that many/most of the dishes on the Olive Garden menu are not among the most healthy of restaurant dishes. Finally, you could purchase about 100lbs of pasta and enough sauce to blanket all of it for that amount of the pass – of course that would be a better value. But, people generally do not go out to eat to find a better value for their money with food. 🙂 So, it is up to you if you decide to go for something like this! If you do, make sure you order an extra bowl for me one of those times. 😉
