If you are in the market for an Apple Watch, now may be the time as both of the latest Apple Watches are on sale now! Plus, a really nice deal on the iPad Mini 4!

I know, I have written before about the Apple Watch Series 2 vs Garmin watches and I will admit – I am a continual Garmin fan. I currently own the Garmin Fenix 5 and it is, without a doubt, the best watch I have ever owned.

But, I also love the Apple Watch for what it is – a smart device that helps with fitness. It is not for me but I am torn sometimes given its strong and growing feature set. Apple watchOS 4 looks like it is going to be pretty good!

  • Apple Watch Series 2 – on sale at Best Buy for $329 in 42mm size and $299 in 38mm size ($70 off regular price)
  • Apple Watch Series 1 – on sale at Target for $229 in 42mm size and $199 in 38mm size ($70 off regular price)

So, if you were looking for an Apple Watch, this could be the week for you. There is a sale going on for Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2 – both for $70 off. Now, Apple chose to make the naming structure of Apple Watch confusing so just to be clear, Series 1 and 2 are both the watches released last year with the Series 2 having complete waterproofing and GPS. Neither of these watches is the original Apple Watch and both of these will be upgradeable to watchOS 4.

One of the things I love about Apple Watch is the great travel apps that are available on it and the amount of two-way interaction that can go on. My Garmin Fenix 5 provides me with all of my smart notifications from those same apps but does not allow me to engage the app and bring up more detail or do some of the things that Apple Watch does.

The best part about these current prices is that you are essentially getting a pretty great fitness tracker inside of an incredible smart device for a little more than really nice fitness trackers cost.

This was one I happened to stumble across while pulling up the Apple Watch prices. The iPad Mini 4 is the current Mini generation. It is a solid little performer that can really do a great job in a small body.

Best Buy has discounted the iPad Mini 4 128GB model to $299 – down from $399! You can do even better with an open-box model, if you want to go that route.

That is a pretty great deal for a large capacity iPad Mini 4! I know the new iPad Pros were just announced and will be shipping this week but the smallest one in that family is 10.5″. If you want something more portable, the 7.9″ display of the iPad Mini 4 may be just for you.

  • This was on sale at BestBuy a few weeks ago at the same price. My only complaint is that the heart rate monitor goes through some wild mood swings. I’ve received readings of 200+ BPM which is really crazy.

But a key reason I got this was to be able to pay for items with Apple Pay or Level Up and board planes with the flick of a wrist. I just completed my first trip with this and the only flight I could not use it was in LAS where the Southwest gate readers are fixed in a position where you can only slide a paper or phone into the reader. Also the WN self checkin/tagging kiosks didn’t read because of the reader’s position.
