Another Card With A $200 Bonus Offer

$200 bonus

The Chase Freedom offer of $200 after spending $500 was only a limited-time offer and has since dropped to the normal $100 bonus. While most of the readers here signed up for that card to be able to have them converted to Ultimate Reward points (when in an account with a Chase Sapphire Preferred or a Chase Ink Plus/Bold), the point was – it was still a free $200 for a moment of your time!

Sony Credit Card – $200 Bonus Offer

$200 bonus

This is another card with a $200 bonus offer and it does come around from time-t0-time as well. This credit card offer requires you to spend only $500 as well to get a $200 statement credit. To break it down to the pure profit of it – if you were to purchase something like an Apple iPad Air 2 (the base model costs $499) and a pack of gum (assuming no tax), that iPad Air 2 will end up costing you only $299. That is a great deal! Plus, you do not have a crisis of value by using this bonus for a statement credit instead of converting it to points. 🙂

The card is the Sony Card. Even though it bears the name Sony, you do not have to spend the money on Sony products or redeem the statement credit for Sony products or purchases to get the bonus. It is the Sony co-branded credit card so it simply allows you to earn more points on Sony purchases. Here is the earning structure:

  • Earn 5X points on Sony purchases at Sony stores and store.sony.com
  • Earn 3X points on dining and movies
  • Earn 1X points on all other purchases

There is no annual fee to the card so you can just keep this card forever. The only bad part about this card is that it is from Capital One. Capital One reports to all 3 credit bureaus of the pull for the credit inquiry. So, instead of only having the pull come from a single agency, you will have it reported to all of them. It is up to you whether that matters or not.

I think this is a nice way to get some free stuff. Granted, you can easily get a greater than $200 value in miles and points cards but this is a very easy way to get a quick $200 for little effort.
