Amazon Prime Day 2020 was delayed from the usual July timeframe due to the coronavirus pandemic. Amazon had originally been rumored to be thinking about September and then they had settled on October. This will be a somewhat difficult timeframe for them with Black Friday coming just a few weeks after the new Amazon Prime Day 2020 but bargain hunters won’t complain!
Amazon Prime Day 2020 is Coming Soon
According to multiple sites referencing leaked documents and e-mails, the Amazon Prime Day 2020 will start on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. We do know it will be a two day sales event like last year.
One possibility is that October 13 could be a major kickoff of sales that Amazon starts running right up until Black Friday. But, that would still mean that the actual Prime Day event would offer the best deals (before Black Friday). The last thing Amazon wants is people holding off on purchases to see what else may be coming or to have to do price matches/returns if other things drop in price during a month-long sale event.
If it is similar to last year, here is what we can expect:

- End time: 11:59PM PT October 14
- Frequency: Sales every 5 minutes
- Who is Eligible: Amazon Prime Members

What Should We Expect for Sale Items?
Definitely expect some big price drops on Amazon devices, especially Kindles and Fire tablets. October is normally when Amazon releases new tablets so I wouldn’t be surprised to see some awesome sales on this generation of tablets to move them out and make room for a new generation.

Last year, there was the most incredible Amazon deal in a long time – that Amazon actually honored for many (but only partially honored for me). Check out this post for more but there were thousands of dollars of camera gear that went for a fraction of the price!
We will see some luggage deals, though maybe not as many as in the past with diminished travel right now. But, I would say to expect some great TV deals as well as some awesome fitness deals since this is a focus for many during these times of the pandemic.
