Hilton Gold status is certainly one of the easiest hotel statuses to earn based on the several tracks to it, plus it is also the best mid-category hotel status around (I think!). Since Hilton Gold members get free breakfasts on their stays, that benefit alone can be a huge savings.
Yet Another Path To Hilton Gold Status
Here are some of the ways that you can easily get Hilton Gold status:
- Hold the Citi Hilton Reserve credit card (complimentary for as long as you hold the card)
- Hold the American Express Hilton Surpass card (complimentary for as long as you hold the card)
- Fast track challenges that appear (for example, stay 4 times in a certain amount of time and receive Hilton Gold)
- Promotions that come around from time to time
If you ever plan on staying at a Hilton hotel, you should easily be able to claim Hilton Gold status just with the examples above.
Of course, if you have an American Express Platinum card, that became even easier today. A couple of years ago, they had a limited-time offer where Platinum card holders could receive Hilton Gold status for holding the card (just like you can get SPG Gold, which is much harder to get without stays than Hilton Gold). Well, now they are bringing that back as a feature of the card – and it is a good one! In the face of stiffer competition from Citi as of late, it is good to see American Express upping some of the benefits on their cards. To be able to get 2 hotel statuses as well as car rental status with a single American Express card is a great, all-in-one deal!
To get your complimentary Hilton Gold status, simply visit this link and sign-in to enroll. That’s it! Once you do that, you are on your way to having Hilton Gold status at hotels around the world. While it is not the best status, I do consider it to be the best mid-tier status and the free breakfast is always nice! 🙂
