Here is your chance to win a guaranteed entry to the 2017 Chicago Marathon! Read about it here and enter for your shot at running Chicago in 2017!

As I said yesterday, I will be having a Mega Giveaway week in a couple of weeks. But, I wanted to kick it off with something very special and it has to be given away this weekend so here it is! Just like year, I am again giving away a guaranteed entry to the 2017 Chicago Marathon! Not only would you receive the entry (which can only be guaranteed otherwise through the lottery for most people) but you would also not have to pay for it! That is $195 for US marathoners that you will save!

Last month, I wrote about a special promotion that I was happy to partner with – raising money for charity (the American Liver Foundation) while enjoying running a world-class marathon and trying to win miles for travel. They have given me an entry to the 2017 Chicago Marathon that I wanted to pass on to one of my readers. So, here is your chance!

The 2017 Chicago Marathon is such a popular race that they employ the lottery system that other big marathons use as well. That means that you sign-up but you are not guaranteed entry unless your entry is selected in the lottery. If you are selected, you will pay the race fee ($195 for US residents and $220 for non-US residents).

What if you could skip all of that? Skip the lottery and not pay the race fee! Well, here is your chance! Running with Miles is sponsoring one reader for the Chicago Marathon through the American Liver Foundation. That means that you can enter here and, if you are selected, you will have a guaranteed entry for the 2017 Chicago Marathon and it will cost you nothing!

Rules:

  • Leave a comment below to enter (let me know in your comment as well if you have ever run a marathon before!)
  • Giveaway runs through 9PM EDT on Sunday, November 27, 2016
  • The 2017 Chicago Marathon takes place October 8, 2017
  • The reader will need to respond to my winning notification by 12:00PM, November 28 or  I will select another winner
  • The reader will be selected randomly
  • Each person can enter once
  • The final decision is mine alone. This reader giveaway is sponsored by Running with Miles and the decision is made completely by Running with Miles and not the Chicago Marathon or the American Liver Foundation.
  • Sorry, but only entrants in the US can enter this!

If you have never run a marathon before, this could be a great first one! Not only is Chicago a famous marathon but this next year’s edition will be the 40th anniversary! It should be very special! If you are a veteran marathoner, Chicago is known to be a fast course and it could set you up for a great race! Enter below and see what happens!

If you have never run a marathon before, this could be your chance! Not only will you have the support of an awesome crowd and fellow runners (as well as the American Liver Foundation team) but you will also have almost 11 months to train! That could take you from running nothing now and running your very own 26.2 miles!

  • I’d like to win this. I’ve run 14 marathons and have run Chicago twice but I ran it in 2005 when I was hurt and then my rematch in 2007 was the year with the super hot weather. Managed to finish before they shut it down. I need another shot at it.

  • Pick me and I will run my first full marathon. I have run several half’s but never committed to a full. I read that the Chicago Marathon is fantastic and it would be an awesome experience as my first!

  • Would love to run Chicago for the first time; it’s on my long wish list now that I have returned to marathons after a decade hiatus. Thought about Chicago last couple of years but chose Twin Cities and Marine Corps (my fifth overall) for October events this year and last, and I’m not tough enough to do two in one month. I enjoy your blog.

  • I’ve run several halves, but never a full. Was scheduled to do Disney’s Dopey in Jan 2017 but an unexpected health issue/injury prevented that. Running a marathon before 40 is on my bucket list- and I don’t have much more time to cross this one off!!

  • In honor of the Cubs victory, a run through the beautiful city would be so appropriate. Having run a Marathon in Denver, it would be cool to see how I do at sea level while using points and miles to get there and for my stay!

  • Would love to run it! I have 13 fills and 14 halfs starting back 3.5 years ago when I put my running shoes on for the first time in 33 years. My pr us a few ticks off Boston and have it on the bucket list though have slipped a bit since PR. Thanx for the opportunity!

  • Would love to Run Chicago – I’ve Run NY 4 times and Disney once – Ruptured my Plantar Fascia during New York two weeks ago – Recovering now – Would love a nice flat Marathon….Need a Sub 4.. Cant manage to get below 4:04.. Pick me 🙂

  • Hey Charlie – love this! What an amazing opportunity! I just ran my first ever marathon – NYC 2016 – it was amazing and I had a great time. Ran with Project Purple to raise funds for pancreatic cancer. A good friend from Chicago suggested I run this with her next year. Would love to surprise her by telling her I will! 🙂

  • I’d love to win an entry into the 2017 Chicago Marathon for my wife. She’s run 1 other marathon, it was in 2013, and has been tossing around the idea of doing another. I have a qualifying time, but am reluctant to sign us both up and her not get selected from the lottery drawing. We are both in our early 40’s and would love to make this into a race-cation, not to mention the fact that it’s only a couple of weeks after our Anniversary! I think its great that you are notifying the winner before the application cutoff date, allowing individuals in my predicament to piece things together!

  • I would like to run Chicago for the first time. I have run four marathons before and think that Chicago would be the perfect race for me to attempt a sub 3:00 finish. It would also be great for my boyfriend to be able to see me run a marathon.

  • Would love a chance to give Chicago another shot. Poor training regimen on 2015’s race. Feel like I need a “re do”. I’ve run nine marathons, with #10 in a few weeks!

  • I’d love to be selected as I lived in Chicago for 6 years and claim Chicago as my favorite big city. It would also be my first marathon, as I have run a few half-marathons. I’ve always thought that if I ran a marathon, I would love it to be Chicago. Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Never ran a full marathon in my life but I decided to make it my goal in 2017. Chicago would be fitting since my first race I did (The 2015 BTN Big 10k) happened in Chicago and I would love for my first ever Marathon to be in the same city!

  • Please pick me 🙂 I ran my first marathon last year in Ventura and can’t wait to start training for another one. I am looking to move to Chicago in the near future and would love to run this marathon!

  • I’d love to win this. I’ve run 7 marathons, 4 ultras, and, I’ve forgotten how many halfs, but I’ve never run Chicago. It seems like an amazing race!

  • I’d love to win an entry into the 2017 Chicago Marathon. I have run 4 marathons this year(3 half and 1 full). I will be very happy to run Chicago marathon next year.

  • Running my first marathon before I hit the big 5-0 is on my bucket list for 2017… be great to make Chicago my first. Cheered my wife on in the Windy City in 2013 when she did her first marathon and BQ’d it… need to get my shot at glory!

  • When Chicago calls you best be doing something, on lake shore drive is where you find me running. Bears, blackhawks, white sox and the cubbies, cruising to a new pr like I was Pheidippides. Deuce six point two is the distance I’d be hustling, I’ve already done a few but outside New England I got nothing. I know this drawing is random but maybe you had the time, to look over and read this plea that I made into a rhyme. Pick me, I want it, I already know that I am selfish, I’ll put this run up on the screen when they film my bio-pic. Truth be told I’m broke as hell, my profession as a teacher, 195 to run a race i need help from a preacher. I live in New Hampshire, Illinois I’m not a native, hook this runner up because at least I was creative.

  • Definitely a great opportunity to push myself to get back to having that “cut line” physique that would give me away as a runner.

Have not run a marathon before, but feel pretty confident I’d complete it and Chicago is an awesome place! Only downside is it’d probably take me just over 4 hours atm.

Either way, THANK YOU for posting something like this!

  • You are giving me another excuse to visit a great city. While I have not run a marathon before, I have completed a half (in training) as well as two half Ironman’s. Thank you for making this available!

  • Hi Charlie. I’d love to run Chicago as my 11th overall and third of the Majors. I really Walled in DC this year and need a great come back race in 2017. This could be it. Thanks.

  • What a great opportunity. I have run three half-marathon and plan on running a full marathon in 2017. I would like to run for a cause, the American Liver Foundation.
    Thanks

  • I’d love to run the 2017 Bank of America Chicago Marathon and represent The American Liver Foundation. This would mark my 5th Chicago Marathon. In 2015 I ran for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I definitely found the marathon experience more fulfilling and purposeful running for a cause other than myself. Beating a personal best of 3:46 would also be the icing on the cake. Thanks for your consideration 🙂

  • I would love to win free entry to the Chicago Marathon! I ran my first marathon at age 49 and am training for my second one in March 2017 at age 52. I became addicted to running through my youngest child.
    Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Hi Charlie, What a great offer/promotion! I would be delighted to run Chicago Marathon as it is on my list of one’s to accomplish. I am running Boston in April of 2017 so the timing would be perfect. I have run some competitively, some for fun (NYC 2015) and one to support a friend (PDX), but that’s another story because I was only going to run halfway with her but she was hurting at that point and I couldn’t leave her and ended up running the whole thing with her! Still proud that i helped get her to the finishline in under 3 hours…and I got in a long run! Bring on Chicago….I would love to run and eat my way through the city afterwards. Cheers….and #RunHappy

  • I would love to try and run Chicago again. The last time I ran it was in 2007, the year the race was canceled halfway through due to the heat. I was one of the lucky ones to cross the finish line and get a medal. The experience definitely makes a great story to tell. I would love to PR and shoot for a better time than I ran on that hot October day.
I took a break from marathons the past couple of years to have children. I am now starting to increase my distance again and itching to do another 26.2 in 2017.

  • I need a reboot! I have been running on and off for almost 5 years now. And the last two have not been my best. I like to challenge myself and need some motivation. This would be my 2nd Marathon , I have some halfs and a 10ks so I know I can do it but I want to be better and more confident in my execution. My last was 6 hours and I know I can do better. Also this week I got a friendly reminder that I only have 1 life and 1 body and I need to be good to it. My dad has T2 diabetes and now his foot will be amputated. That will not be me in 20 years. Thanks for the opportunity and the consideration.

  • The next Chicago Marathon would be my third marathon and my last chance to properly train and run before kiddo #1 arrives in my life.

  • This will be my husband second time running the Chicago Marathon. He also ran the New York Marathon once. He didn’t know that I’m writing, so this will be a great surprise for him. Chicago is a beautiful city and we really enjoy our trip and the Marathon. Hope that you select him (Javier). Thanks for the chance to win.

  • Awesome idea for an amazing cause! I’ve run marathons here in CT and RI but only dreamed of Chicago – and I’m a New Yorker, so go figure! Best of luck to the lucky winner!

  • Hello, my sister just ran the New York marathon and I was there to cheer her! It really motivated me to run my first marathon and Chicago would be so great!
Thanks for putting this contest together. Vinny

  • As I’m not likely to win this entry, I’m going to run the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon on October 1, 2017, instead. Join me. 3000 runners, cool weather with tailwinds expected and cheap.

  • I’d love to win this. I just finished the nyc marathon and looking to find my next marathon.

  • I would love to win an entry as my husband and I are both going in the lottery. I’m from Australia and won a place to the 2016 NY marathon through the lottery and my husband travelled with me. once experiencing the NY marathon we have decided to do a major US marathon together in 2017, it will be his first and my second

  • Would love to run this marathon…Just did the Marine Corps Marathon and Chicago is on my bucket list. Thanks for the chance.

  • Me please. I just ran an ultra in Vietnam and a marathon in Myanmar. I am an American working in Vietnam and will pay my way to fly home to run this.

  • I have run a half marathon 3-4 years ago. This would be a great reason to get back in the game. Thank you for giving away an entry!!

  • I’ve done several half marathons and am looking for the right opportunity for my first full marathon! Chicago is such a beautiful city. Thank you for hosting this giveaway!

  • Never run a marathon before, but several halfs and a few mini-tris. I live on the marathon route in NYC though and it’s one of my favorite days of the year!

  • I would love to run it! I’ve been a runner since grade school but only recently upped my mileage beyond 5k – I’ve run two half marathons this year and am slated to run the Rock n Roll marathon in Raleigh (my home for the last 2 years) in April. Chicago is my hometown and I’d love to run the marathon next fall!

  • I’ve completed several local full marathons and I would love to run the Chicago marathon. I was able to visit Chicago last year on points and would have loved to run along the lake!

  • Howdy! I’m French, living in Berlin (Germany) and I’ve finished 2 marathons already. I visited Chicago last year (I have family there) and I loved the city, I can’t wait to come back and see more of it. What would be a better occasion than running the city marathon? 🙂 Pick me and I’ll make you a cheese fondue you won’t forget!
