The pinnacle of a running vacation hybrid has to be the Walt Disney World running events. Not only does it present a unique opportunity for many runners to participate in a variety of races, but it also gives a large running event with a family destination. This is the perfect race set if you want to take the family on a vacation and still get a great race in.

I have not run it, but have had many friends that have. Many of them really liked the event and their families liked it even more. Personally, I think the best thing to do is to give the race entry as a freebie for buying multi-day visit packs to WDW, but obviously they do well enough with the rate it sells out that they don’t need to do that. 🙂

These events are filling fast!

The dates for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend are January 7 – January 10, 2016. Registration link is here.

At any rate, the Walt Disney World running events encompass a number of races and even combos of the races. Here are the different entries/races offered:

A very popular item is the Dopey Challenge and it is quite a challenge. Running 4 different races is a challenge but it is a great venue to do that at. The Goofy Challenge is also very popular and it has more open spaces at this time than the Dopey. Plus, it is a way to get in to the half marathon now that it is sold out.

The one that is almost full (9% in the last 14 hours) is the Dopey Challenge. If you have an interest in it, register now!
