Tumi Acquired By Samsonite

Today, it was announced that Samsonsite has paid $1.8 billion to acquire Tumi. Samsonite is the biggest luggage company in the world and has varying quality of bags across their spectrum of products. By adding Tumi, a well-loved brand by business travelers everywhere, they will certainly add something to their upper-end of their product family.

Samsonite already has many different brands and they are separate from the regular Samsonite brand. From a quality standpoint, it will be nice that they are keeping them separate but from a deal-perspective, I wish it would be brought under Samsonsite for purchasing (like this deal combination last year). Tumi is currently my go-to bag for all of my trips and I absolutely love the functionality and quality of the bag. Hopefully, that will continue.
