Welcome back to our Sunday Summary Series where we review the posts that were covered throughout the past week.
This week saw many posts on travel and running deals. Some of them are still going on but many may already be over.
The first deal of the week was a treadmill and trainer deal. The treadmill was an excellent treadmill available at over $300 off. Glad a few people got in on this one!
While not really a great use of points, it is still a disappointment that Chase removed the option to use Ultimate Reward points for merchandise from Best Buy. A couple of years ago, it was possible to get around 2 cents per point value using that redemption method. But, that is no longer allowed.
The next round of Pointbreak hotels from IHG are here. There are not a lot of awe-inspiring hotels on the list but there are a lot of options that may fit your travel patterns over the next three months.
The new frequent flyer program of Aegean Airlines is here – the new Miles + Bonus program. As I type this, the new member site is not totally functional yet as some of the options are not there (like the original page that showed the certificates available to Gold members).
Flying a small drone for commercial purposes (taking videos and photos for commercial sites, for example) may soon require an actual pilot’s license!
With the onslaught of deals available this week, it was fortunate that some of the deals lined up with Amex offers that made the deals even more lucrative. This was one such deal.
This was one of the greatest deals for gaining top tier elite status – 7 roundtrips and $725 to earn AA’s Executive Platinum status! This deal is now gone as the great deal for the applicable flights is no longer alive.
This deal presented some of the best prices on Kindle devices and also had a nice promo for 6 months of the Kindle Unlimited program.
Obviously, as the title says, it is a big thank you and it is to you, the readers. Thanks so much for following along and reading – it is a joy to interact with you all!
This was our third Thanksgiving abroad and this post looks at some of the minor challenges in trying to observe a traditional Thanksgiving celebration in a foreign country.
This is one of the latest Amex Offers and it is a good one – basically, 33% back on $150 Hyatt Place stays. Not bad!
It is great that Amazon has been throwing some nice deals at us runners! This is one such deal and it is great that many got in on it!
Even Etihad is getting into the Cyber Monday craze by offering sales of 30% off fares in coach, business, and first class. Find out the details here.
Yesterday was the big Amex day – Small Business Saturday! Hopefully, you all racked up some serious savings while helping your local small businesses.
Saturday Deals: 10% Off eBay Gift Cards, 50% Off Oakley Sunglasses, and Chromebook with 2 Years of 1TB Google Drive/GoGo Passes
This post rounds up some of the most notable Saturday deals and some of them are still valid! If you want some great sunglasses or some good Google stuff, check it out.
Tomorrow only, you can purchase 20,000 Club Carlson points for only $70. While it is cheaper to accrue those points with credit card spend, if you want the points fast for a redemption, this is the deal for you.
This is part 2 of my trip into Iran. If you have wondered about some of the sites and interesting aspects of traveling in Iran, check out this post!
