Starting today, you can earn Hyatt points for staying in homes. This is through the Hyatt/Oasis partnership and includes a kick-off bonus promo and the ability to earn elite nights – in homes!

Last year, Hyatt announced their new program with Oasis, a partnership that allows home rentals (similar to Airbnb but more curated for Hyatt). They had said at the time that this new partnership – part of the Hyatt Unbound Collection – would eventually earn points in the World of Hyatt program. That time has come and it comes with a bonus.

Here is the information from Hyatt:

Effective today, March 1, 2018, World of Hyatt members can earn and redeem World of Hyatt points when they stay at an Oasis home, including in places where Hyatt is not yet represented, such as Barcelona, Ibiza, Punta del Este (Uruguay), Rome and Trancoso (Brazil). As an entirely intermediated home sharing experience, Oasis combines the comfort and authenticity of a home with Hyatt-like amenities World of Hyatt members are accustomed to, including in-person check-in and check-out, fresh linens, luxury toiletries, WiFi internet and on-demand concierge services.

New Promo for Points

Plus, at launch (stays with a checkout date between March 1, 2018 and June 30, 2018), members can take advantage of an exclusive offer to earn 1,000 Bonus Points per qualifying night on top of Base Points earned for stays at Oasis.

If you are the modern traveler that prefers to book and stay in homes than hotels, now you can do that and earn points at the same time if you book the places in this Unbound Collection. It is a pretty nice double dip if you like traveling that way!

How It Works

Here is the earning table for stays at Oasis properties under World of Hyatt:

  • Earn 5 Base Points per eligible dollar spent on qualifying Oasis nights
  • Earn tier-qualifying nights for qualifying Oasis nights
  • Earn Bonus Points on eligible Oasis spend for elite members (10% for Discoverist, 20% for Explorist and 30% for Globalist)
  • Request late check-out for elite members (2 p.m. for Discoverist and Explorist; 4 p.m. for Globalist)

Using Points for a Free Night

Given the differentiated style of offering that Oasis provides, the following are Oasis-specific World of Hyatt benefits:

  • Redeem 15,000 points for a $200 credit toward an Oasis stay (and additional increments of 15,000 points for additional $200 credits)
  • Enjoy a welcome amenity at check-in for elite members

While I value my Hyatt points at more than this redemption amount gives, the earning side of things is a nice way to go – especially since you can earn elite nights for staying in homes!
