Southwest Airlines 50,000 Point Offer

I just found a link for a Southwest Airlines credit card that offers 50,000 Rapid Reward points! At this time, there is only one (the personal premier card) that is offering the 50,000 (the other 3 cards are only at 25,000). The business premier might also be at 50,000 but the language is not very clear so I would advise caution and screenshots if you go with that.

Application Strategy

This is the perfect time to apply for this card! Undoubtedly, the other cards will offer 50,000 points again sometime in the next few months (if it goes according to past years). If you apply now and do not start putting any spend on the card until after January 1, every dollar you put on this card and the sign-up bonus will go towards the required 110,000 points for the Companion Pass! So, if you apply now and meet the required $2,000 in spending after January 1st, you will already have 52,000 points toward that 110,000 point amount. Once you get the rest of the way there (through another credit card bonus or spending on this card), you will have the Companion Pass for all of 2014 and 2015!

For more information on the companion pass, check this post I just wrote about my wife’s companion pass.
