Good Deal?

This can be a very good deal depending on your cities for travel. There are often some very good (and even incredible) outright airfare sales to some Asian cities but they are often out of major airports. If you would rather book a ticket from your regional airport, an award promo like this could be a big help.

Not only that, but remember the flexibility that an award ticket can give you. If you will be traveling after October 6 and you have no United status, you will find that the redeposit fees for your United awards will be much lower than they are now. This will easily beat out trying to get any future value on a cheap revenue ticket.

I love that this promo is for travel into next April! This is a great time to check and see where you want to go over the next several months and book some of that travel with this new United award promo.

  • DTW-CAN, CAN-RGN, HAN-DTW still books as 80,000 miles at the United site, not choosing blackout dates and picking United metal outbound DTW-EWR-PVG, then Air China PVG-CAN. Have I misunderstood the promotion? Is United metal required both ways? If so, there seems to be no United metal scheduled between HAN-DTW. Do I need to change the departure point for the return flight?
