Aegean Airlines has certainly made some changes to their program over the last several months but they added many benefits that are sure to help all Aegean Gold members, even if they do not plan on renewing their status. It has taken a while but Aegean has finally brought their website more up-to-date with the new benefits and the ability to redeem some of those benefits.

Redeeming Gold Companion Tickets for 50% Off

One of the new benefits for Aegean Gold members is the 50% off voucher for one traveler and companion. When it was first presented, I thought it sounded like they were saying that the companion would get 50% off the ticket but instead, it is for both travelers. This 50% off voucher is only applicable for domestic Aegean flights but Aegean’s domestic network is quite extensive and some of the flights can be fairly high-priced during the peak season. These vouchers help to bring that cost down.

Finding The Gold Companion Ticket

The vouchers are only available to Aegean Gold members and they receive two such vouchers good for two passengers on each. That is a total of four tickets that can be discounted at 50% off.

To find the voucher code, login to your Aegean account – here – and go to My Coupons to get the code.

Go to My Coupons to retrieve your 50% off voucher code

On that page, you will see a list of all of your coupons (upgrade certificates, parking passes, 50% off coupon, etc). The coupon number for Gold Companion Ticket is what you are looking for.

Redeeming the Voucher

Once you have the coupon number for the Gold Companion Ticket, go back to the Aegean Airline’s homepage and start your search for a domestic ticket for two people. Note: If you have activated the Together accounts, your award miles will all be located there but all of your coupons remain in your personal Gold account. Only domestic tickets will come with the box for a promotion code so it will only work for those searches (which is in accordance with the terms of the companion tickets).

Search for two tickets within the domestic network to start

After you input your departure and arrival airports and dates (make sure you select 2 people), it will take you to a page to select your date (if you selected for flexible dates) or right to the flight selection page. You will need to enter all of the travelers’ information and continue until you reach Step 6 – Payment. On this page, scroll down the page and just above the area to input your payment information, you will see a box marked Promotional Code. Enter the voucher code from your Miles+Bonus page to get the discount.

Enter your 50% coupon code to get 50% off the total fare price (before taxes)

While it is marked as a 50% off coupon, since it is actually 50% off each passenger for an essential buy-one-get-one-free ticket voucher. It will only take it off of the ticket price and not the taxes, so keep that in mind.

That is it! Every Gold member receives two such codes each member year. Keep in mind that if you redeem a code (and actually checkout and pay), even if you cancel the ticket, you will not get the voucher back. Once it has been redeemed, it cannot be reused.

Obviously, some of the best value will be received on the peak routes, which are island destinations in the summer months. It is a great way to get to these places while knocking out your required Aegean flights for requalification at the lower level.
