Want to earn 5,000 Membership Reward points for $250? You can with this new Amex Offer for points when shopping at Hugo Boss! Check out the details!

I have to say, I really do like all of these Amex Offers that are coming out with increased point earnings for certain merchants. Cash back is always nice but it is really nice to get a bundle of points on purchases as well, especially when it is on a card that normally doesn’t have much in the way of category bonuses.

New Amex Offer for Points

Hugo Boss

amex offer for points

  • Get 5000 additional Membership Rewards points one-time by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $250+ in one or more eligible transactions
  • Valid in-store at HUGO BOSS or online at hugoboss.com
  • Expires 5/11/2017

As is the case with past Amex Offers like this, this particular offer will only be on Membership Reward earning cards (got it on our Business Platinum card). But, there may be a similar offer on other cards, just with cash back. In that instance, it will likely be $50 back on $250 spending.

In this case, if you were to spend just the $250, you would be earning 20 Membership Reward points per dollar spent at Hugo Boss. Not a bad deal!

Just Getting the Points

The terms do not exclude gift cards so you could buy gift cards to hit the $250 threshold and earn the points. You cannot purchase gift cards online and the gift cards purchased in-store cannot be used online. But, this is still a great avenue to pursue if you do not have any purchases in mind at Hugo Boss. If you bought and resold the gift card(s), you would be getting the Membership Reward points for less than 1 cent per point. It seems like Hugo Boss gift cards sell at pretty good prices.

Did you get any great, targeted offers on your card(s) this morning?

  • maybe we have a different idea on what a “good” resale value is…unless you want to list on Raise.

    Market Physical
    AbcGiftCard 55.0%
    MonsterGiftCard 50.0%
    CardCash 50.0%

At these rates, a $250 pGC would get you back $137.50. So in effect, you’d be paying $112.50 for 5250 MR points. That’s like paying 2.14 cents per point unless I’m missing something.
