The end of another month is here which means it is time for IHG to roll out their latest list of IHG PointBreaks. These are the hotels that IHG has seen fit to let go for only 5,000 points per night. Since these points can be acquired on a semi-regular basis for $32 for the 5,000 (by booking a hotel with points and cash and then cancelling the reservation – the cash component is returned to you as points), this can mean great deals in the hotel world! So, which IHG hotels made the cut?

What to Look For

There are some repeat customers on here, including some that are Crowne Plaza properties. Sorry, if you are looking for IHG’s top end Intercontinental, you will not find any of them on this list (again!). But, there are some properties you should definitely still consider for what they can offer you.

There are 10 Crowne Plaza properties on the list this time around, which I believe is higher than normal. Some of these properties can go for a good bit of cash so 5,000 points is definitely a deal. The Crowne Plaza Panama is one that I believe is on the list at least a couple of times a year. If you are headed to Panama, definitely grab this hotel.

Another thing to look at is the 5 airport hotels. These are super convenient when you have either an early flight or a late return. They can also be useful for long layovers (though I doubt anyone is having a long layover at the Omaha airport!). The Staybridge Suites Baltimore BWI Airport location is on this list, though, so if you have travel through BWI, check it out.

We are also full swing into NFL season. If you wanted to catch your favorite team, or maybe bank on them making it to the playoffs, check out properties in those areas as well.

Finally, a little shout out for a hometown hotel, the Holiday Inn Express Rochester-Greece. This hotel is centrally located near shopping areas but also just outside of the city to be away from the traffic. There are some cool things to do in Rochester, so if you will be passing through, may want to check that one out!

  • Hi Charlie! do you have any ideas for an cheap points6cash hotel just to get the best rate for 5.000 points. Just could find P&C 10,000 points + $70.00 USD so 5.000 for 35 bucks but not 32. Ideas? Cheers!
