One of the best hauls I made on AA miles so far this year was with the Backcountry promo from last week. I picked up just over 25,000 miles thanks to a 15X mile payout plus the 5,000 mile promo for spending.
But, that was just a part of it! Backcountry has a great 20% off code that works on items all across their site. Unfortunately, the items I really wished it worked on it does not – GPS watches! But, things like Oakleys and GoPros, items that normally do not have great discounts available at retail like this, do work with this 20% off code!
Last Day To Get 20% Off Oakley Sunglasses, GoPros, and A Lot More
This is the last day to take advantage of this promo (they have said that it ends tomorrow, 11/23) so check out the items soon! I have owned Oakley Half Jackets, Flak Jackets and currently own the Flak Jacket 2.0 and I have loved them all! They work great for running or just wearing while out and about. This code opens up some great deals on those items.
Getting The Discount
Before you head to Backcountry, make sure you check out the portal payouts for them. One of the highest is with United Airlines at 8X miles per dollar (plus it can go towards their holiday promo as well). If not that, consider Ultimate Rewards at 6X points. Some people were concerned as to whether the code would invalidate the portal payouts but mine went through without a problem.
Next, find a regular priced item and add it to your cart. The promo code will only work on the highest priced item in your cart so check to see what you want. Also, it says one per customer so take that into consideration (or maybe your family wants to get in on this as well!). When I did this, the code was added automatically at checkout, but if not, add code BC20 in the promo code field and it will show an automatic 20% off!
This is a great way to get some quality outdoor gear and earn some miles doing it. It is not that often that you can pick up a lot of miles and use a code on big brand items so this is a nice chance to do that.
