Interested in 50,000 Points on Citi Premier? May Want to Apply Soon

Citi Premier

The Citi Premier 50,000 point offer will be changing soon. If you want to get at least $625 in travel money, check out this card’s offer!

According to some bloggers, the bonus on the Citi Premier is set to change tomorrow. It could be that it will go higher (that would be nice!), but chances are it with drop. Another possibility is that the affiliate links will lose the bonuses and the bonus will only be available through public links. No matter which it is, if you are interested in picking up 50,000 ThankYou points for travel, today may be the time to do that.

You can find this card by going through the Travel Credit Cards link in the menu above, under Credit Cards – thank you for your support should you apply!

The Citi Premier is essentially the Chase Sapphire Preferred of the Citi family. It earns points in similar ways and there are a variety of ThankYou transfer partners that you can transfer the points to or use them directly for travel. And, it comes with a $95 annual fee (waived for the first year). Here are the details on the Citi Premier 50,000 point offer:

  • Earn 50,000 points after spending $4,000 in first 3 months
  • Earn 3X points for travel (including gas stations)
  • Earn 2X points for dining and entertainment
  • Earn 1 point for all other purchases
  • Annual fee of $95 waived the first year
  • Use points for travel at rate of 1.25 cents per point
  • Transfer to travel partners

The Citi Premier card has some great points, especially with the 3x point earning on travel! With the 1.25 cents redemption rate on travel, it definitely gives you a nice return on your travel (and gas) purchases.

Also, this past weekend, Citi opened up an arrangement with Turkish Airlines as a new transfer partner. They have some gems in their award charts but there are some hoops to go through to get the actual ticket (nothing quite so smooth as with United’s awards!).

Don’t forget – “Bonus ThankYou Points are not available if you have had a ThankYou Preferred, ThankYou Premier or Citi Prestige card opened or closed in the past 24 months.” Do check this post by Dustin how he was approved and got the bonus under the 24 months – ymmv but interesting nonetheless!

    • There was a public offer a couple of years ago for 60,000 points but that has not been around for a while. Usual offers are 40,000 or 30,000 and, at some times, nothing at all!
