Great Limited-Time Offer On Rosetta Stone

Rosetta Stone

This type of deal should be something that any person wishing to visit a particular part of the world for a while should consider. Sure, you can get by with English in most places, but if you really want to immerse yourself into the culture (as much as possible in a few days) and get past the tourist mentality of the place you are visiting, it really helps to have some of the language down. Now, there are some places where having knowledge of the language of the country can actually be a detriment (such as in one country I visited last year), but for the most part, it can only do you good. Here is a way to get a great program at a great price.

Rosetta Stone

Rosetta Stone is one of the biggest, well-known language learning programs. I have used this and Pimsleur and believe that both are good programs but have different methods of arriving at language familiarity.  Their program is used widely in the government and public sectors for how well it performs. Of course you will find bad reviews of it, but if you look at the site where most of the reviews are located, they are from competitor websites.

Rosetta Stone uses an approach that they call Dynamic Immersion. This technique uses pictures, text, video, or sound to introduce a word or phrase. There is no oral translation involved. This approach is very helpful for children as well (my kids are picking up on one of the languages quite well with it). The part about the course that I like the best is the TOTALe program that allows you to use an iPad for more of a hands-on learning experience. This is helpful so that you can basically do it from anyplace (with an internet connection) without having to use a computer. It allows for a more comfortable learning environment. This part of the program is a subscription program but you do get a few months free with the purchase of the program. You can set up the program for multiple users so each person can track their progress independently of the other.

Special Link for price of $264 for any program – Link (I do not get a commission for this link)

I purchased one of the courses a couple of years ago when their was a $50 discount on the program (regularly $399 for a Level 1, 2, and 3 language and $499 for the language with Level 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5). I thought that was a good deal until I found a code last year that gave me $75 off of another Level 1, 2, and 3 language that I needed. That code was topped again the next month with up to 35% off the programs, meaning I was able to purchase yet another program (Level 1, 2, and 3) for $299 instead of $399!  This time, it is even better – $264 for any multi-level program! Note: You must purchase it through the link in this post to get the special price! Shopping portals will make the price go up to $324 (and $279 for the smaller packages – see below for more information). I do not get a commission for this link. This is an excellent deal that might not come around again for quite a while.  If you are considering a language program, now would be the time! Here are the languages they offer and how many levels are available for each:

Shopping Portals

If you are only interested in a program offering Levels 1, 2, and 3, you can still go through a shopping portal to get the program for $279, which is $15 more than this deal. If you go through the Ultimate Reward portal, for example, you will earn 8 points per dollar which puts your point earning at 2,232 Ultimate Reward points. I would value those at $40 so the extra $15 to purchase them would be worth it. However, for the packages offering Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, the cost is $324 and probably not worth it what you would get in points. Should you want to go for the higher price in exchange for points, here are some of the best point deals.

Should you go the portal route, probably the best deal would be through British Airways. Purchasing the 3 level package would net you about 3,300 Avios which is 73% of a one-way short-haul award ticket on American Airlines (and soon US Airways). Not bad!

The funny thing is that I have been getting e-mails for the last two weeks with Last Chance! messages about their low prices. Each time the next e-mail would come, the price would be even lower. However, this is definitely one of the lowest prices I have seen and is a great deal for a great program. If you have been wanting to learn a language, now is the time to move on this.
