Great Amex Offers: 20% Rebate At The Gas Pump (on $25 Spend) and 20% Rebate On Gift Cards (on $50 Spend At Lowes)

Amex Offer
Written by Charlie

Two new American Express offers hit my account this morning (and other accounts I have so I do not think they are targeted) and they are really decent offers!

20% Rebate At The Gas Pump

This one works out to a 20% rebate at Chevron and Texaco gas stations when you spend $25 in fuel.. In other words, you will receive $5 back on your card for spending $25. This is a fantastic offer to use with some already-low gas prices around the US. Remember, it can even be maxes out according to the amount of Amex cards you have using multiple browser tabs (see below).

The one thing about this offer is that it says at the pump and specifically excludes all other gas station purchases. This would (presumably) eliminate the ability to use it for gift cards in-store but I am not in a position to try that out to know for sure. If someone does that and gets confirmation of the offer being used (which should be an e-mail within moments after the purchase), let me know in the comments.

Accessing the Amex Offer

Log in to your American Express account and click on any of the cards you have in the account. Scroll down to the Offers portion and you should see the following offer waiting for you!

Amex Offer

Save $5 on gas at Chevron or Texaco!

Here are the details:

  • Must be used by May 15, 2015
  • Must be used at the pump
  • Enrollment limited (in other words, save this offer to your card now)
  • Twitter tag: #AmexChevron from your card-linked Twitter account

To maximize itadd the offer to separate cards, simply login to your American Express account and then choose to duplicate the tab (if using Google Chrome) as many times as you have cards. Once they are all open, select a different Amex card in each tab and select to save the offer to the card. This shows up as available on every one of my cards – charge cards, business cards, and personal cards.

20% Rebate On Purchases At Lowes (Like Gift Cards!)

This is another great offer. I specifically mention gift cards because Lowes does carry a lot of different gift cards but this offer would be good on any purchases made at Lowes. See this great list of what gift cards are available at Lowes (can be seen at DansDeals).

Obviously, if you have home improvement stuff coming up then you can purchase other things but the gift cards will give you some great flexibility with this offer.

Amex Offer

Receive $10 back on anything purchased at Lowes – including gift cards!

Here are the details:

  • Must be used by April 17, 2015
  • May be used in-store or online
  • Does not work on electronic gift cards
  • Enrollment limited (in other words, save this offer to your card now)
  • Twitter tag: #AmexLowes from your card-linked Twitter account

To maximize itadd the offer to separate cards, simply login to your American Express account and then choose to duplicate the tab (if using Google Chrome) as many times as you have cards. Once they are all open, select a different Amex card in each tab and select to save the offer to the card. This shows up as available on every one of my cards – charge cards, business cards, and personal cards.

Summary

While the amounts seem small, you can maximize this on every Amex card you have that has the offer – even Bluebird and Serve (though everyone may not see both offers in their accounts with Bluebird or Serve). That can add up to some huge gas savings and gift card purchases! Use your imagination and available Amex cards to turn this into a great earning experience!
