Take advantage of this new, targeted Amex Offer to earn up to 32 Membership Reward points per dollar at Montblanc! This is a fantastic deal you should save!

This is one of those pretty great Amex Offers that pop up every once in a while and can be incredibly useful – even if this is not a retailer you use!

Earn 12,500 MR Points for $400 Spend at Montblanc (32 points per dollar) – Targeted

12,500 mr points

This was on only one of our cards – Business Platinum card. It is likely to be heavily targeted (though may be available also as a $125 back with $400 spend on some cards). With graduation season heating up, I’m not really that surprised to see a Montblanc offer pop up.

I am surprised to see such a lucrative one for Membership Reward points – it works out 32 points per dollar if you spend just $400 at Montblanc! Here are the details:

  • Get 12,500 additional Membership Rewards points one-time by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $400+ in one or more eligible transactions
  • Valid in-store at Montblanc or online at montblanc.com
  • Expires 6/30/2017

Getting Value from the Offer

Here is some of the fine print – Offer valid in-store and at US website only at montblanc.com. Excludes Puerto Rico location, outlet locations, airport locations, technical/service centers, corporate gifts brochure, corporate gifts, wholesale and boutique events. Excludes bulk/corporate gift cards. Not valid on purchases shipped outside of the US.

Ok, it calls out gift cards but says “bulk/corporate” gift cards. After a quick search, I was unable to find gift cards online but they may be available in-store. If they are, you could buy a gift card to sell and be done! Take a little loss and that’s that.

Or, you could buy something that is trending on eBay and take a loss there as well. With an offer like this, taking even a $120 loss still lets you “purchase” Membership Reward points for less than 1 penny each. But, if you have some friends shopping for gifts this season, they may help you out – especially if you say you will give them $25 off. 🙂

No matter how you look at it, this is a fantastic offer! If you have the Business Platinum card and redeem your points with the 50% rebate, you will be able to get $250 in hard travel value out of spending $400 at a retailer (as long as your card still offers that perk after tomorrow).

Did you get this targeted offer or any other good targeted offer?

  • Thanks! Targeted for five out of six MR cards I have. Haven’t checked my wife’s accounts yet.

  • Targeted on my platinum card, but not on my SPG. It is a very strong return, but I really have no interest in purchasing an ink pen for $1000 or a wallet for $500 from Montblanc. Do they sell items that are competitive with normal department store pricing?
