American Express may not have the value of the transfer partners that Chase’s Ultimate Rewards program has but they do run some amazing SYNC deals. This one in particular is very good – it gives you a $25 statement credit for any purchase made from Amazon (as a seller, not a third-party seller) of $75 or more! That translates to a 33% refund! To make it sweeter, it works on Amazon gift cards! This way you can take advantage of this deal now with future purchases in mind. Purchasing gift cards also gives you the ability to use them towards purchases made from third-party sellers.
Here is how to get set for this deal:
- Go to this link to register your American Express card – every American Express card you have, including as an authorized user, can be used but each have to be registered separately!
- If you want to be certain, wait for the e-mail from American Express that your card is linked
- Go shopping at Amazon!
I did this with several American Express cards and received most e-mails within 5 minutes of registering the card. After I made the purchase of a gift card (for $75), I received another e-mail (within 30 minutes, most of them within 5 minutes) thanking me for shopping with my synced card (this is the verification that it worked). Now, I have several hundreds of dollars of gift cards in my Amazon account just waiting to be used! Thank you, American Express and Amazon! 🙂
