These best Southwest 60,000 point offers are about to expire and that will mean the easy route to the Southwest Companion Pass will go away also.

In what is a somewhat rare occurence, all three Southwest cards (I miss the old Southwest Business Plus card!) have been at 60,000 points for a while now. According to some reports and Chase’s Facebook advert, it appears that these offers will be pulled today. Chances are good that they will still exist on some not-so-public links (and will likely not be available through affiliate channels) but if you have not yet applied and you wanted to, it may be the time to do it now!

Southwest 60,000 Point Bonuses & Easy Southwest Companion Pass

Here are the current card offers:

Southwest Premier Personal Card

  • Earn 60,000 points after spending $2,000 in 3 months
  • Annual fee of $99 not waived
  • Receive 6,000 bonus points each card anniversary
  • Application Link

Southwest Plus Personal Card

  • Earn 60,000 points after spending $2,000 in 3 months
  • Annual fee of $69 not waived
  • Received 3,000 bonus points each card anniversary
  • Application Link

Southwest Premier Business Card

  • Earn 60,000 points after spending $3,000 in 3 months
  • Annual fee of $99 not waived
  • Receive 6,000 bonus points each card anniversary
  • Application Link

That’s right – every Southwest card is offering 60,000 points after meeting the minimum spending. Unfortunately, they do fall under the Chase 5/24 so if you have 5 or more new accounts (with any issuer) in the last 24 months, you will be denied for these cards. Also, you cannot have received the bonus on the card you apply for within the previous 24 months and cannot currently hold it.

If you are ok with those details above and are able to get these cards, this is a fantastic deal. Normally, we see the 50,000 point offers around October which would allow you to time your earning of the points to coincide with the new year and give you 2 full years of the Southwest Companion Pass. But, that requires a little extra spending to hit the required 110,000 points for the Southwest Companion Pass. With these offers, you only need to do the spending required by the card for the bonus points and you are done!

Get to the Southwest Companion Pass With Only One of these Cards!

But, maybe you are only able to get one of the Southwest cards right now (maybe you had two of the other ones and their bonuses in the last 24 months or maybe you only have enough ceiling under 5/24 for a single Chase application). It that is the case, or maybe you only want one right now, here is how you can get the other 50,000 points you will need to hit the 110,000 points for the Southwest Companion Pass.

So, one card will give you 60,000 points (plus the 2,000 or 3,000 extra from the minimum spending). Where do you get the other 50,000 points?

Refer-A-Friend Bonuses!

Chase offers a very generous 10,000 points per successful referral of the Southwest card – up to 50,000 points per calendar year. That means you only need to get 5 friends/family members to sign up for the card you get (through your link) and you will get the other 50,000 points!

Southwest Companion Pass

Referral points count towards the Southwest Companion Pass

These referral points actually do count towards the Companion Pass so you can lock up the Southwest Companion Pass with just one card bonus and 5 successful referral bonuses from that card. While 5 cards may sound like a lot, remember that these bonuses are incredibly valuable and can give each cardholder at least $900 in travel on Southwest. If they do not travel much, they could also exchange those points in for gift cards.

Will you be applying for one/more of these cards?

  • Just an FYI but I applied for the card and was approved on July 3rd and received the 60,000 point offer.
