Emirates released an announcement that they will begin service on June 8 with their newly equipped 777-300ER to London-Stansted airport.This airport is known as being the main hub of Ryanair as well as being an airport destination for other low cost carriers as well.

However, for Emirates, it will be a nice way to add a new daily non-stop to the London area without making passengers have to deal with the other packed London airports. I have flown in and out of Stansted airport before (on Ryanair) and found the process to be much easier than dealing with Heathrow – understatement! Plus, it is easy to access by bus from downtown London at fairly reasonable prices as well as having easy access to other industry hubs.

Here is their planned schedule:

  • Flight EK33 will depart Dubai at 09:30hrs, and will arrive in London Stansted at 14:10hrs
  • Flight EK34 will depart London Stansted at 21:10hrs and arrive in Dubai at 07:05 the following day

Plus, if passengers are paying for first class or business class, they can take advantage of the 70-mile radius chauffeur service which also makes for an awesome way to get in and around London. A smoother airport experience and easy access to London should make this a fairly popular route for people that do not want to get stuck in another large airport on landing.

The first time I flew the Etihad Apartments, I had “connected” back to Greece on Ryanair. Quite the change in onboard experiences! 🙂 Now, maybe I will get another chance to do this type of connection – now with Emirates!
