The flower company FTD is offering buyers 30 AA miles per dollar with a special offer for AA elite members to earn even more!

With Mother’s Day around the corner, shopping portals are alive with offers to earn bonus miles and points. While some of the higher amounts are for retailers that typically charge more than other places may charge, there is still reason to check them out to see what value you can find. Find out about earning 30 AA miles per $1 at FTD and even more miles if you are elite!

Details about the offer:

  • Valid through May 9, 2016
  • 30 miles per dollar spent
  • 200 bonus miles only for elite members who have AA credit cards
  • Deal link

This deal awards everyone who shops at FTD with their AA number 30 miles per dollar. That by itself is pretty good and may be helpful if planning where you will shop.

But, if you are an AA elite member who holds an AA credit card from either Citi or Barclaycard, you can earn an additional 200 miles per order! This could be a big help! If you placed orders at the $19.99 amount, you would earn 600 AA miles from the regular offer plus an additional 200 miles for a total of 40 AA miles per dollar! If you wanted to lay in a few different, low cost orders, you could really rack up some miles.

If you look at it as buying miles, you will be paying 2.5 cents per mile. With the regular cost at 3.5 cents per mile, this could be a cheaper way to buy miles to top up your account and get some products on the cheap (if you are looking at it as purely a mileage play). Of course, you will have to take the delivery charges into account as well (you do not earn miles for those).

Alternatives

Do not forget that there is an Amex Offer where you will get 25% off FTD when you go through their link and save the promo code. If you want a discount, that could be more useful. Also, United is offering 30 miles per dollar as well while Delta is offering 35 miles per dollar. If you are a AA elite member and your purchases will be cheap enough, I would go this route to earn the most miles for your item spending.
