Good morning! Here are some pretty nice deals to start your day. With the spring weather here/coming and summer on its way, it is never too soon to think about getting more active and hopefully, some of these will help you with that!

Deal Roundup: Amazon Deals, GoPro HERO4, Amex Offer+Discount

Amazon Deals – Garmin Vivofit

Today, Amazon has as one of their Deals of the Day, the Garmin Vivofit. The Vivofit was Garmin’s entrance into the activity tracking world and many people found it quite useful. To see a wonderful write-up on this device and to help you decide if it is for you, check out DC Rainmaker’s review on it – here.

Garmin Vivofit

The Garmin Vivofit – on sale today for $59.99

Other retailers have this activity monitor listed for $89-99 so it is a good deal to be able to get this at today’s price with Amazon – $59.99. They have 6 colors available – black, slate, blue, purple, red, and teal. These are brand new items and carry Amazon’s regular return policy with them. There is a newer version available – the Vivofit 2 – but if you do not mind an older generation (a little over a year), then this could be for you.

Amazon Deals – Amazon Fire Phone

Get the Amazon Fire Phone and Amazon Prime for $189

I have written about this smartphone from Amazon several times – whenever it drops in price. While the phone does not rank with the high-end smartphones it was made to rival, the fact that you can get an unlocked smartphone for use around the world and a year of Amazon Prime for only $189 is a pretty great deal! Even if you only wanted to use the phone as a smart device around the house, you would still be getting a nice device. If you subtract the $99 that Prime costs for a year, it means you are paying only $90 for the brand-new phone.

Getting unlimited cloud storage for photos is a nice addition as well. It is not limited to photos you take with this device – any photos you upload can be stored on Amazon’s cloud drive for free and accessed by any internet device (this comes free with Amazon Prime).

GoPro HERO4 Black/Surf

GoPro HERO4

Nice deal on the accessory-loaded HERO4 Black Surf model

I wrote about this deal last week and it is back again – the high-end HERO4 Black/Surf model and it is on sale for $100 off regular price. The GoPro cameras are used and enjoyed by professionals and sport enthusiasts all over the world for the great video quality and ease of use. This is the top model that GoPro sells so you know you would be getting their best.

The Surf model is the same unit as the Black model but includes extra accessories for those who want to record their fantastic rides on the surf. The additional accessories are:

  • Skeleton Backdoor
  • Surfboard Mount
  • FCS Plug Mount
  • Camera Tether

This deal is available as an eBay deal for $399 and is brand new. The regular price is $499, so this is a nice $100 discount! It is being sold by BigValueInc, a regular in the eBay Daily Deals department.

Amex Offer+Discount

Nashbar

Nashbar

And finally, we get to an Amex Offer that I wrote about last week. The reason I am including it in today’s deal roundup is that the store, Nashbar, is having a 20% off sale that ends today! When coupled with the $35 off $175 purchase, this can lead to some real deals! Nashbar specializes in bicycle equipment but you can find other sporting gear there as well.

While it says that the discount excludes such manufacturers as Garmin, some Garmin devices are showing the discount when added to the cart (the older devices). You do not need a promo code as the 20% discount is hardcoded into the system – 20% off anything over $49 and that ends today!

  • Today WSJ carries an article about runners that do multiday races. The feature was the Dopey Challenge, which requires $550 to enter and slots sell out like events in NYC and other major cities.
