Need a good running watch? Check out this deal on the Garmin Forerunner 230! Not only is it good but it has smartphone notifications!

I cannot believe how far the GPS watch technology has come since I began running! I started with Garmin and their Forerunner 201. The thing was like the size of a small bar of soap and, yes, I wore it on my wrist. 🙂 Now, these watches look like normal watches with very decent battery life, excellent GPS tracking, and can deliver things like notifications from your smartphone (Android or Apple).

There is a deal that I came across on eBay for a manufacturer refurbished Garmin Forerunner 230. I had owned the Garmin Forerunner 235 which is the same exact watch except the 235 has built-in optical heart rate sensors. If you don’t care about having 24/7 heart rate monitoring, the Garmin 230 can be a great deal, especially at this price.

It is currently available for only $128 on eBay. They have already sold a few so I would not wait. They are available in two colors – black /white and violet/white. This is a fantastic watch and a great deal at this price. You can even get smart notifications on the go, which I love with my Garmin!

  • So I bought my wife the purple/white one and she opened it but didn’t really like the look. Just said it looks a bit cheaply built and I don’t totally disagree. That being said, what are your thoughts on the Samsung S2? It has GPS, right? The main thing my wife wants is a GPS tracker — she’s not a huge runner but just wants to be able to track her runs without taking her phone along for the ride. Thoughts?
