This story left me so surprised and very thankful for this woman that she survived this accident. I can’t imagine being hit by a propeller – and being able to say that that did happen to me.
This happened (on Friday) as a result of a blown tire on take-off that required the Air Canada Bombardier Q-400 (a Jazz Aviation aircraft) to make an emergency landing. The propellor crashed through the woman’s window, hitting her and knocking her glasses off. She said her right side is sore and bruised but otherwise ok.
I can’t imagine how shaken she would feel after an experience like this. She was due to fly back home and Air Canada promised to be in touch with the passengers on Monday about compensation for the accident. Make sure you check this link to see the photo from the crash – unreal.

Literally my biggest fear flying these type of planes is this exact reason, not that before I ever had any reason to believe that the big metal propeller would ever fall off and come flying through the side of the airplane, but now my fears are substantiated- ahhh,
