Blog Giveaway: RoadID Gift Card

Blog Giveaway
Written by Charlie

Here is another blog giveaway. This time, it is for one of the things I almost never run without – a RoadID product. RoadID is a company that makes identification products to help athletes in case of emergency situations. Many people have testimonials of how these IDs (which come in many forms – on the shoes, wrists, etc) had saved their lives because medical personnel were able to administer the proper treatment. It has also helped many athletes from becoming John/Jane Does in hospitals thanks to the contact numbers that people put on the ID for family members/friends. Before anyone goes out a run or ride, RoadID should be the first thing that they put on.

Not only does RoadID make the identification tags, but they also have other products to help athletes while they are out on the road. These other products are things like vests, lights, and other items to help identify your presence on the side of the road while moving. I have several of their products and find them to be of the highest quality. The lights are lightweight but powerful and useful for more than just a signal – they also help the athlete to see the road at night. In addition, they also offer free smartphone apps that will put your emergency contact information on the lock screen in case of an emergency as well as dropping digital breadcombs for people you designate to know where you are.

So, now that you know a little bit about them and their products, I want to give away a $20 gift certificate to RoadID to help one lucky person become safer out on the roads. If you want to check out what they have to offer, I would appreciate it if you used my referral link. I will get a small commission for items you purchase and that will help me to continue to have giveaways like this. Thanks for checking it out!

To enter, leave a comment below that has something to do with safety while on the road – whether when traveling or workouts. It can be something like I always leave a copy of my itinerary with my family or I leave a map of where I will be running. This way we can all learn and be a little more cautious on the road!

Disclosure: I earn a commission for any items you purchase through the RoadID links in this post. Thank you for your support!

  • When I go for a jog, whether at home or away, I always carry my cell phone so I can call someone if I need help.

  • As an insulin dependent diabetic I always make sure I travel with my meds listing in my wallet and wear a medical ID dog tag. It is just to heavy though. The bracelet looks like a winner.

  • I like to run early in the morning before the sun come up so I always make sure to have my handheld flashlight and wear reflective headgear (hat or beanie).

  • I always wear a reflective belt at night and carry my cell phone which has an in case of emergency number on it.

  • I run with headphones that sit on the outside of my ears so I can still hear road traffic and other noises.

  • When out on a run I always carry some sort of id. And when I’m on the road I run around and car dealers lots, bec their always lighted and sometimes even have security on site. Thanks

  • I use the Tripit itinery website and then share it with my family so they know where I will be every day.

  • I often run and bike early in the morning or late at night. I always wear bright, reflective clothing and use headlights/tailights.

  • Make sure you’re always hydrated and consume as much water as practical when there’s a supply.

  • I love the idea of these! we have a rule in my family that we always need to let someone know or write a note if you are going out for a run/bike ride/etc. Always nice to have the piece of mind just in case!

  • Riding my bike on the road, I always carry a cell, have my GPS on during the ride, and as much as she hates looking at maps, I show my wife the route I’m taking before I head out.

  • I always try to tell someone at my house where I’m going and about how long I’ll be out. They way they don’t worry if I’m out for 3 hours and they know to worry if I said I’ll be gone an hour and it’s been 3. I’ll leave a note if they aren’t awake of course. Oh and if you do this with your spouse it’s always better to overestimate how long you’ll be gone versus being late.

  • Doing my first international marathon this year. I also spend a lot of time in sub-Saharan Africa for work and do training runs when I’m there. Definitely shouldn’t be leaving the house without a RoadID!
