Happy Black Friday! One of the things I love about this day is how much shopping and the getting of great deals can be done from the comfort of the home or office! Here is one of those, if you want to get AA miles on the cheap.

I am sure they have been this cheap at some point but I could not remember off hand when that time was. But, this is pretty cheap if you are looking for AA miles (especially with Citi cracking down on bonuses from the same card family). To buy AA miles for 1.77 cents each, you will need to spend quite a bit of money but it will come down to what you plan on doing with the miles. If you are using your AA miles for premium cabin travel, this could definitely be the cheaper way to get them.

Tier Prices (these prices include the tax):

Amount of Miles Bonus Cost Cost Per Mile
25,000 9,000 $822.81 2.4 Cents
50,000 27,000 $1,615.63 2.09 Cents
75,000 48,000 $2,408.44 1.95 Cents
100,000 72,000 $3,201.25 1.86 Cents
150,000 120,000 $4,786.88 1.77 Cents

For instance, if you were to fly from New York to Abu Dhabi on Etihad’s A380 in their First Apartment, it would require 230,000 AA miles roundtrip (which would cost $4,071 with this deal). If you were to purchase the ticket outright, it would cost you $14,500! Of course, I am not suggesting anyone do this but just pointing out that purchasing miles for such travel would certainly be cheaper than buying outright (and I know that there are readers that do spend thousands on premium cabins).

Just make sure you have a definite use for the miles before buying as you never know what changes (“enhancements“) that American Airlines may make along the way. Still, if you need American Airline miles, this has to be one of the best prices for them in a while!
