There is now a 100,000 point IHG offer out on this popular card! Find out about the details of this offer and what may help you with being targeted or finding it.

Here comes another Chase targeted offer – but this 100,000 point IHG offer is going to be an easier decision than the Hyatt offer! It is targeted, but here is some information that may help you with this offer.

100,000 Point IHG Offer

100,000 point IHG offer

Are you targeted for the great 100,000 point IHG offer?

For a long time, the best offer out there on the IHG card was 80,000 points and a $50 credit. Many people had success calling in for the 80,000 points even after it was no longer available online. However, e-mail offers for the 80,000 points and $50 did continue to go out to some recipients (including me).

Now, the next round of targeted e-mail offers appear to be the 100,000 point IHG offer. This one has a couple of changes from the 80K offer (no $50 credit and the annual fee of $49 is not waived – so paying $99 for the extra 20,000 points) but it is a very strong offer, especially when matched with the IHG Point Break hotels.

Here are the details on this offer:

  • Earn 100,000 points after spending $2,000 in 3 months
  • Earn 5,000 points when you add (and they spend something) an authorized user within 3 months
  • Anniversary night each year you hold the card
  • $49 annual fee
  • Platinum Elite status
  • Receive a 10% rebate on points used (like getting another 10,000 points from this offer!
  • Expires 11/11/2016

Some Things to Know About the 100,000 Point IHG Offer

See If You Are Targeted!

Based on the past targeted offers I have received, I would search your e-mail for “Treat yourself to 10 free nights!

First of all, here are the various offers that have been released in the past for this card:

  • 60,000 IHG points after spending $1,000 in 90 days – Public offer
  • 70,000 IHG points after spending $1,000 in 90 days – Targeted offer
  • 80,000 IHG points after spending $1,000 in 90 days – Targeted offer
  • 80,000 IHG points & $50 statement credit after spending $1,000 in 90 days – Targeted offer
  • 40,000 IHG points & 1 Free Night after spending $1,000 in 90 days – Targeted offer
  • 100,000 IHG points after spending $2,000 in 90 days – Targeted offer

As one who often receives the 80,000 point targeted offer by e-mail, I am eager to see if this one comes around for me! But, since I do receive targeted offers (like this sweet 40K and one free night offer), I have noticed some things about these offers.

First, the targeted offers may not always stick around. I will get the 80K offer in my e-mail and in my IHG account and it will be there for a while before it disappears and bumps back down to the regular 60K on my account through IHG. So, these offers can and do come and go – do not be afraid to check your IHG account on a regular basis to see if the offer appears there. I have often noticed it in my account a couple/few days before I get the e-mail – or I don’t get the e-mail at all that time!

I did a post last year on some things that may help when getting targeted for these offers. Here are some of the sampling points I found on receiving targeted IHG offers.

From my earlier post:

With the IHG card, I did tests of 4 accounts. I also used a number of variables – setup new accounts, transferred points to the accounts (new and old) registered for promotions, made reservations, and completed stays. In those 4 accounts, only one account received different targeted offers (my account!). Here is what my account activity looked like:

  • did not have IHG card
  • transferred points
  • earned points
  • made reservations
  • completed stays
  • registered for promotions
  • completed promotions
  • burned free nights

Basically, mine was a somewhat active account. There was only one difference made between the receipt of the various targeted offers. The first targeted offer I received was for the 80,000 points and it was after the summer promotion had been run. Between that time and the next offer, I transferred points to the account from my Chase account, made a points reservation and cancelled the reservation. I am not sure if any of that had anything to do with the second offer – which was 40,000 points and 1 free night – but those were the differences.

Summary

The IHG card is one of the most valuable when it comes to annual benefits – a free night at any IHG hotel in exchange for paying the annual fee of $49 is fantastic! Not only that, the points from this card can have tremendous value if you use them at the 5K per night Point Break hotels that come out every couple of months.

If you do get targeted for this offer, I would certainly go for it as it is a really great offer to have! If you are not targeted, keep checking for the IHG promos as they are quite lucrative (like when I got 2 free nights anywhere for 3 cheap stays).
